Ride at Vogt Riding Academy

Vogt Riding Academy (VRA) is a full-service dressage training barn offering lessons, training, and show coaching to riders of all ages and levels of experience. Our goal is to develop all riders into strong, confident and capable equestrians so they can be effective, balanced and relaxed in the saddle. We provide a structure for learning the basic foundation of dressage that enables riders to develop and bring out the best in their mounts by working with them on programs designed to achieve their specific goals, whether they aspire to be national competitors or simply recreational riders.

We teach our students to feel confident and proficient in every aspect of horsemanship. Self-assurance, confidence, and discipline come not only from riding but also the time the students spend working with the horses in the barn outside of lessons. Inevitably, riders (and parents) become part of the close-knit VRA family. Friendships form while students perform chores, assist each other, and bond over horses.

Our students also have become strong contenders on the local Dressage Show circuit. In addition, we normally host two Horse Shows a year on the grounds, exclusively for our own students. Riders of both private and academy horses are welcome to compete.

A hidden gem, Vogt (pronounced ‘vote’) Riding Academy is tucked in the heart of Atlanta, next door to Emory University. The academy is a family-run business offering high quality riding and horsemanship programs to the community for over 50 years.  VRA is currently operated by Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer, Anneliese Vogt-Harber
